Way Nominee has Helped to Further the Industry: He entertains fans in a fresh and unique way, making the game experience fun and memorable. He dances, leads cheers, throws free merchandise to fans, leads the wave, and interacts with fans. He creates an environment where fans feel more comfortable to laugh, cheer, and root for their team because that crazy guy on the Jumbotron was acting so crazy. He is very professional when working with the game ops staff and is open to creating new and entertaining ways to make a crowd cheer. I was skeptical before he worked one of my games, but after watching him perform, I'm a believer. He lifts the crowd up in a way that I've never seen a mascot, athlete, or other game ops act ever match.

Character Beyond Reproach: Quotes from his website: "Cameron was a revelation. For one guy to stand out amongst 14,000 fans show his unique ability to assert his presence on the stadium and considering we have some of the most vocal and passionate fans around, "The Dancing Guy" took them to a new level, revving them up and entertaining them in his own high-energy style." - Simon Collinson, Marketing Director Wigan Warriors

"Biggest applause of the night! This crowd is a buzz. That's just awesome. He's got everyone standing." - John McEnroe

"That crazy guy has always brought a special smile to mine and my kids faces, from nights in Jersey to seeing him at the Olympics. He always adds the atmosphere and the experience for everyone around him." - Martin Brodeur, New Jersey Devils goalie.

"There are 7 billion people in the world, only one can ignite a crowd like Cameron Hughes." - Ryan O'Dowd, Sports Illustrated.

Special Consideration: Cameron has been playing "The Crazy Dancing Guy" at sporting events since 1994. Since then he's performed for millions and made them all cheer. His creativity towards game entertainment is unmatched by how inspirational it has been towards the professionals working in our industry. He has been an inspiration for me and hundreds more of IDEA members. He has taken a simple thing of a fan cheering and perfected it. That is quite the achievement and one that I hope we honor this year at the IDEA Conference.
