Membership FAQs

Q:

What types of membership are available in IDEA?

A:

There are three types of membership available in IDEA:  Active, Allied and Alumni.

  1. Active members are those organizations which are involved in the day-to-day management of any segment of game ops at a team or facility. (Including but not limited to: video display, event presentation and marketing personnel.)
  2. Allied members are those companies which supply goods and services to the event presentation and large screen video display industry. (Including but not limited to audio and video equipment, programming, animation, music providers, display manufacturers, game ops peripherals.)
  3. Alumni members are individuals who were formerly employed by IDEA member organizations and are no longer involved in the game operations industry.
Q:

How do you define an organization?

A:

For membership purposes, an organization is defined as a single team or entity.  For Active members, the "Fan Cheer" test is the best indicator of a single team.  If your fans cheer for "Team A" at some events and "Team B" at other events, you are considered TWO SEPERATE organizations, regardless of ownership.
