GMA Entry Information
The 2010 Golden Matrix Awards Entry Deadline has passed

The Golden Matrix Awards (GMAs) are open to all Active members of
IDEA in good standing. To be eligible
for the GMAs, the entry must have played on the display of the Active member during the Active member's event. All entries must have first appeared on a venue’s display system during the period beginning 60 days prior to IDEA’s
previous annual conference and ending 75 days prior to IDEA’s upcoming annual
conference.
Eligibility dates for the 2010 competition: November 23, 2008 - December 1, 2009.
The GMA Committee reserves the right to settle any and all
questions of eligibility, verify all entry information and resolve all
differences through its committee procedure.
The president of IDEA has final authority in all disputes between the
entrant and the GMA Committee.
Each individual GMA entry must be submitted directly to the current
GMA Video Director according to the submission guidelines. (See below for
complete details.) All GMA entries shall
become property of IDEA and may be used by IDEA for promotional and archival
purposes, including possible podcast, cablecast, or broadcast
applications. No GMA entries will be
returned.

2010 Entry Preparation & Rules

PLEASE BE ADVISED that there are some changes from past competitions. Please read the following entry preparation and rules carefully to avoid disqualification.
1. Each individual production may only be entered once. No
production may be submitted in more than ONE category, with the following
exception: an excerpt from a production entered in another category may be
incorporated into entries in either the “Best Overall Video Display” or “Best
Overall Matrix Display” categories.
2. We would prefer all entries
to be submitted on tape, but will accept the below file based formats.
All entries should still contain a slate at the front that includes the
GMA category, title of entry and TRT. Teams should submit their tapes
or files in one of the following formats:

ENTRIES MAY BE COMPILED ONTO ONE TAPE OR DATA DVD. As a result,
individual tape labels are no longer needed. Please list your entries
on the tape label using the following format:
Organization Name
1. “Entry Name” – GMA Category
2. “Entry Name” – GMA Category
Remember: Submit all entry forms in electronic form. No need to print out.
3. A separate GMA entry form must be filled out online, in its entirety, for each
individual GMA entry. Failure to fill out the entry form completely will
subject the entry to disqualification. No information involving production
budgets or creative resources will be requested.
4. Each entry must be accompanied by payment in full of the $35.00 per entry
fee. Payment may be made on line with credit card or a check may be submitted with the entry reel. NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT PAYMENT.
5. Each entry must be submitted "as aired", as the fans saw and heard
it. NO additional audio or video elements or treatments may be used. However,
if applicable, matrix support may be added to any "video" entries.
6. Each entry tape must begin with color bars, tone and slate. These items will
be used by the GMA Video Director for calibration purposes. If you have multiple entries on a tape or data DVD be sure and slate each.
7. Any entry exceeding the set time limit for its category will automatically
be disqualified. NO EXCEPTIONS. If the production to be entered is longer than
the stated time limit for that category, then the entry must fade to black
prior to the stated time limit. This fade to black must be done by the entrant.
It will NOT be done by the GMA Video Director.
8. 2010 Golden Matrix Awards Entry Deadline is December 1, 2009.
